Golden Age Home Sells Nursing Home

The Board of Directors of Golden Age Home is pleased to announce the sale of the nursing home building to K & Y Investments.  The nursing facility will be run by Pinnacle Health Care, a member of the Preferred Care family.

Golden Age Home will continue to serve Lockhart and the surrounding area with assisted living services.  With the sale of the nursing facility Golden Age Home will be able to focus on providing housing and support for the active seniors in the community.

Golden Age Assisted Living, under the direction of Nicole Burnett, offers an improved program for people who need some assistance but are able to do many things on their own.  A newly designed and staffed dietary department brings home style cooking that is high quality and will improve the way we dine.  Residents are able to choose each day from a variety of types of meals as well as menus.

A major focus for the Board of Directors will be building improvement and planning and assessment for new growth in the senior living field.  The split of the original 20 acres located just off Hwy 183 south of town gives Preferred Care about five acres.  The remaining fifteen acres offer an opportunity for possible growth of Golden Age Home into senior apartments.

The Board is pleased with the work of the new company in bringing improvements to the 20 year old nursing home and its staff.   Now called Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, the building will undergo much renovation and will retain the current staff.
