Volunteering
ROTC
With 65+ years of experience, Golden Age Home understands that a great team is what makes a great business.
The volunteers who have come through the doors of Golden Age Home exemplify a trait of loving compassion and a genuine desire to put others first. The support from our community is wide and deep, from student organizations through Lockhart ISD, 4-H, boys & girls scouts, Aggies FAST group, to NUMEROUS local churches, individuals, and families. The list is long and we are so grateful! There are so many I could not possibly name them all.
Volunteers help stretch our reach and abilities by providing extra hands, resources, and ideas. The ways they do this are countless, but here are a few examples: run the “Bird’s Nest Boutique”, bring entertainment/host a party, assist with maintenance upkeep, lead Bible studies, visit with residents, provide Christmas/birthday gifts, pen pals, and so much more.
We are always looking for those great team members and volunteers to join our mission of providing Excellent, Quality Care to Senior Adults. If you have a passion for the elderly, there’s a place for you at Golden Age Home. Fill out the appropriate application and return to Office@goldenagehome.com.

Volunteer Testimony
Julia started volunteering in high school because she wanted to learn how to crochet. She met Ms. Ruby (https://chiton-orb-6agd.squarespace.com/testimonials/ms-ruby) and they hit it off. She began visiting weekly, learned how to crochet, and got to know other residents as well like Mr. Bill. When Mrs. Ruby passed, Julia kept visiting Mr. Bill. He became a big support for her, and their friendship grew closer as they grieved the loss of a mutual friend together. Julia is now in her late 20’s. She is a teacher, happily married with 3 precious girls. She named her 1st daughter, Ruby to honor Ms. Ruby and has an Etsy business selling her crocheted items. Julia continues to call Mr. Bill and send him birthday and Christmas presents. Bill proudly shows off her Christmas cards of her beautiful family and tells anyone who will listen about her girls.
