Hello, I’m Robert Steinbomer, the Principal Emeritus of Studio Steinbomer Architecture & Interiors. While my position as board member is new, my journey with Golden Age Home (GAH) began many years ago and is deeply personal, having had family members live here for many years. I have a long-standing respect and direct involvement with GAH, even dating back to when it included the Nursing facility; my mother was in the nursing facility, and my stepfather was in the Assisted Living facility.

I have had the privilege to work with Golden Age Home professionally, through my architecture firm, assisting in documenting and evaluating the facility. Later, our firm was part of a strategic project exploring the next stages for the home. I led the team to design one of the options for a new facility.

I believe that there is a responsibility to give back to my community. For me, giving back means using my skills, education, and life experiences to benefit the organizations I am passionate about. I continue volunteer involvement in the non-profit community and arts organizations in Austin and Lockhart. Previously, my primary avenues for giving back included serving as a Board member for Texas Fine Arts Association (Now “the Contemporary” art organization in Austin); Austin Film Society Board member, and Austin’s Women and Their Work arts organization. I am an active member of the Lockhart community, providing pro-bono assistance to local nonprofit groups in need of ADA upgrades, architectural services, or shoring up historic buildings.

Using my Strategic Planning skills, I look forward to guiding Golden Age Home forward to a better future as they continue their legacy to support senior adults in Caldwell County.
